Dayak and History of Progress
There are many ways to express gratitude, one of which
is to hold a series of traditional ceremonies. Gawai Dayak is the only one, the
ceremony is regularly held Dayak in Pontianak, West Kalimantan and has been
going on since decades. The essence of this ceremony is a form of gratitude to
Jubata (God) on a bountiful harvest, while pleading for the next harvest given
the abundance.
Traditional Dayak device normally held for three
months by the Dayaks in Kalimantan, especially Iban and Dayak Army as a form of
thanksgiving for the harvest. There are a number of ceremonies to be performed
in Gawai Dayak. The traditional ceremony into a kind of procession series of
standard that must be passed. Traditional food and a wide variety of offerings
